Mataji’s nephew, Canada
I have been at a loss to know what tribute to write for someone who is still instrumental at each step I take in my life.
It is not the presence or absence of the physical body of the person that counts, but the presence in our hearts and minds.
Mataji was the only link I had in my family who, to me, was greater than even God. She was the person who raised me from the time of my birth till the time she took sannyasa.
Although we lived apart, we were always in tune and in harmony, and there was not a moment that she was away from my soul or my heart.

“Meditation does not mean sitting with closed eyes and getting lost in your thoughts and fantasies. If you concentrate on your family or housework, is that not meditation? Every action can be transformed into meditation or sadhana.”
