Correct performance of yoga asana requires the participation of one’s whole being.”
Yoga & Meditation
At Bihar School of Yoga Worthing, we are dedicated to supporting you to feel better in all ways – physically, mentally and emotionally. We, Swami Ramdev and Swami Kriyamurti, were trained by Swami Atmananda Saraswati, and have been teaching the living tradition of yoga for over 40 years, in Europe and Asia.
To embark on a course of Yoga Therapy is to return to wholeness by removing the obstacles to well-being. Yoga techniques have been scientifically shown to have powerful therapeutic effects on such problems as backache, headaches, digestive problems, respiratory difficulties, depression and stress.
Come for a series of one-to-one Yoga Therapy sessions weekly, monthly or at intervals.

Working to release the shoulder and neck.”
The Bowen Technique
This therapy is a form of bodywork, using gentle moves over muscles and tendons, directly onto skin or through light clothing.
A treatment will take about 45-50 minutes and is ideal for everyone, from the new-born to the elderly. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue, and no force is used or needed.
Many conditions respond well to the Bowen Technique. If your body has a problem, the Bowen Technique may well have the answer.

Surely illnesses for which the medical remedy was surgery and/or extensive medication, could not be dealt with simply by a change in breathing! Yet this was exactly what Professor Buteyko demonstrated.” Patrick McKeown, Asthma Free
Buteyko Breathing Method
Clinical studies show that people with various chronic health problems over-breathe, and that few of us breathe healthily, according to the established medical norm. Professor Buteyko’s discovery is one of the great medical discoveries of all time. He found a link between breathing and many illnesses which are on the increase in recent years.
He and his colleagues treated people with chronic and life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, tumour, emphysema and MS – gradually reducing medication when the patient was able to sustain an improvement in health through better breathing. Chronic and hidden hyperventilation can affect any system: respiratory, muscular, neurological, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, hormonal.

Awareness Through Movment Lesson.”
The Feldenkrais Method
The Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education that uses a series of gentle movements and directed attention to encourage a natural and effortless way to move. These lessons help reorganise our habitual patterns of movement by bringing our attention to parts of the self that are out of our awareness. The Method enables us to include more of ourselves in our movements.
Good movement makes physical activities such as gardening, sports, dancing and playing a musical instrument much easier. You experience less strain and fatigue, and you can play better, for longer periods of time.
When we move well, the body is not tense and rigid. Muscles become longer, ligaments more elastic. We feel relaxed and at ease. Our movements are graceful and the brain functions with more clarity.
The Feldenkrais Method is taught in two parallel forms:
Awareness Through Movement – Group classes: Tuesdays 10.00 to 11.00 am
Functional Integration – Individual lessons: by appointment
